Week in Reviews: Motorola Droid Ultra, HP SlateBook x2, Maingear Pulse 14 and more

Both HP and Motorola dominated this week in reviews — at least in quantity. We tested and critiqued two HP laptops: the SlateBook x2 and the Pavilion TouchSmart 11z. Both offer touch screens for under $500, but read on to see which offers Android as its OS of choice. Next up, we reviewed Motorola’s Droid Ultra on Verizon as well as the Moto X on AT&T’s network. (Plus, it’s the same model that LAPTOP EiC Mark Spoonauer designed through Moto Maker.) We then put a new gaming notebook from Maingear, the Pulse 14, through its paces. Finally, the Netgear Zing Mobile Hotspot got the LAPTOP seal of approval and we gave Lojack (a device-tracking service for Samsung devices) a try on a Samsung Galaxy S4.
